Hi guys, welcome back to Urembo na Princess Zey! 💕
If you’ve seen many hair braiding videos but never found one that’s simple enough for you, today is your lucky day. This is a beginner-friendly tutorial that will guide you step-by-step on how to braid hair — even if you’ve never held someone’s hair (or your own) before.
1. What You’ll Need
Before you start, make sure you have:
~A spray bottle of water (to keep hair damp and reduce frizz)
~Hair oil or styling cream for softness
~A fine-tooth comb for clean parting
2. Learn How to Hold the Hair
This is where most beginners struggle:
Use three fingers of your right hand (thumb, index, and middle) to hold the first section.
Your left hand holds the second section.
The third section is placed in the middle by alternating your hands.
Tip: Don’t braid too tightly at the start to avoid discomfort.
3.Section the Hair
Start by dividing the hair into three equal parts.
Move the left strand → into the middle, then the right strand → into the middle.
Repeat slowly until you reach the ends, then secure with a small rubber band.
4.Success Tips for Beginners
Start slow, then build up speed as you get comfortable.
If you make a mistake, simply undo and start again — no braid is beyond saving!

Practice regularly — the more you braid, the better you’ll get.
Remember
Braiding is an art that blends patience with creativity. As you learn, you’ll develop your own techniques and style.
So don’t give up — your first braid is the beginning of a beautiful hair journey.😌
💬 Question of the day: Which braid should I teach you next — three-strand, box braids, or cornrows?
Leave your answer in the comments, and I’ll prepare a new blog and video just for you!
